Uinta Wind Energy Project
On July 9, 2018, Uinta Wind Energy, LLC (Applicant) filed an Application for a Permit to construct and operate the Uinta Wind Energy Project approximately 4 miles northeast of the City of Evanston, Wyoming along U.S. Highway 189, County Road 103 and Whitney Canyon Haul Road. The Applicant proposes to construct a wind energy facility to produce up to 161 megawatts of energy. The project components include up to 47 wind turbine generators (WTGs) mounted on tubular towers, transformers, electrical collector lines, turbine access roads, meteorological towers, an operations and maintenance building, substation, and a 138-kilovolt (kV) generation-tie line, and at least one temporary concrete batch plant onsite during the construction period. The project is located on 27,907 acres of private and state land in Uinta County. Construction is anticipated to commence in Q2 2019 and be completed by the end of 2020. Construction manpower is anticipated to peak at 141 workers from August through November in 2019 and May through August in 2020. The hearing on this matter is anticipated on October 4, 2018, in Evanston, Wyoming.
