TB Flats Wind Energy Project
On March 27, 2018, TB Flats Wind Energy LLC (Applicant) filed an Application for a Permit to construct and operate the TB Flats Wind Energy Project seven miles north of the Town of Medicine Bow, Wyoming. The Applicant proposes to construct a wind energy generation facility to produce up to 500 megawatts of energy. The project components include up to approximately 200 turbines, at least one new substation, an operations and maintenance building, access roads, a collector system that is proposed to be located underground, a generation tie-line, and ancillary facilities. The project is located on approximately 52,000 acres of private and state land in Carbon County, the southern end of which begins approximately 7 miles north of the Town of Medicine Bow, primarily east of State Highway 487, and along State Highway 77. Construction is anticipated to commence in Q2 2019 and be complete by the end of December 2020. Construction manpower is anticipated to peak at 500 workers in July-September of both 2019 and 2020, with a temporary shutdown of major activities over the winter. The permit was issued on July 30, 2018.
