On October 22, 2007, Black Hills Corporation filed an Application for a Permit to construct a coal-fired electricity generating facility called Wygen III power plant project.  The proposed facility is located in central Campbell County about six miles east of the city of Gillette.  The projectis capable of generating 100 megawatts of electricity.  Construction began in the year 2008 and ended in the year 2010.  The construction workforce proposed to employ a peak of 315 workers during the late summer of 2009 and the operations workforce proposed to employ up to 18 estimated workers.  The construction cost was estimated to be $231.6 million exclusive of interest.  The facility is in operation.  07-02
