The Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) – Air Quality Division (AQD) is operating a new long-term ambient monitoring station in Johnson County, Wyoming.
The monitoring station began operations on May 14, 2018.
The monitoring station is located northeast of Kaycee, WY in Johnson County with the objective of monitoring the regional impact of future county-wide oil and gas development on air quality. This station includes gaseous monitors (NOx, O3 and methane/non-methane hydrocarbons), continuous PM10, a digital camera system, and meteorological instrumentation.
Data collected at this site may be used to determine compliance with air quality standards, to drive air quality modeling, and/or for comparison with other ambient air monitoring data.
Throughout the State of Wyoming, AQD operates 25 Special Purpose Monitors, including 3 mobile monitoring stations, to characterize air quality at various locations. Real-time concentrations and validated data from these monitoring stations can be found on www.wyvisnet.com.
